Round Table - Official Booster Club of UC Davis Basketball

DAVIS, Calif. - With wins in nine of its last 11 games, including three that needed double or triple overtime, UC Davis is playing its best basketball at the most important time of the season. And thanks to its double-OT thriller last Saturday at UC Irvine, the Aggies are the league's regular season champions, and will defend their 2017 Big West Tournament title as this year's No. 1 seed, starting with Thursday's 12 p.m. quarterfinal vs. UC Riverside.

In a game televised on FOX College Sports Pacific in Northern and Central California, and FOX Sports West in Southern California, Sam Farber (PBP), Corey Maggette (Analyst) and Courtney Sweet (Sideline) will call the first of seven Big West postseason games taking place inside the Honda Center in Anaheim, Calif., this weekend.

Local UC Davis basketball fans looking to support  their favorite basketball team with other like-minded individuals are encouraged to visit Woodstock's Pizza in Downtown Davis, site of UC Davis Athletics'  official watch party. Woodstock's will broadcast all UC Davis men's (and women's) games taking place this weekend. Seating is first-come, first-served and there is no admission.

A video stream of this game is also available at FOXSportsGo.com and the FOXSportsGo app to cable/satellite subscribers of FOX Sports' package of channels.

In addition to his radio broadcast on KSAC 105.5 FM, Scott Marsh will provide an internet broadcast on TuneIn Radio, which is available online and through TuneIn's app by searching for the UC Davis Sports Network.

Even though they are involved in this tournament's No. 1-No. 8 matchup, the Aggies will face a stern challenge from a UC Riverside team that split its last eight league games to push CSUN out of this year's Tournament bracket. Included in those four wins are results at Hawai'i and at home against Cal State Fullerton. And it was this same team UC Davis faced two weeks ago that lost to the Aggies by one point, thanks to a running layup from Big West Player and Newcomer of the Year TJ Shorts II  in the final second of regulation.

UC Davis has dominated this series in recent seasons by winning seven of the last eight games.

Thursday's postseason game is also the first involving UC Davis and UC Riverside since both started competing at the Division I level.

Twenty-three years ago, the Aggies faced UC Riverside in the 1995 NCAA West Regional semifinals, a game won by the host Highlanders, 84-66. A UC Davis victory will become the program's first during postseason play since the Highlanders also defeated the Aggies in the 1975 West Regional First Round and the 1969 NCAA West Regional Consolation.

Series Record: UC Davis leads 35-32
Last UC Davis Win: 2/24/18 - H, 64-63
Last UC Riverside Win: 1/12/17 - A, 61-55
Series Streak: UC Davis +3
