DAVIS, Calif. - Thursday's quarterfinal round featured numerous games with exciting finishes, and the intensity shown throughout the first day of the league's playoffs will increase on Friday, starting with a rematch of last year's Big West Tournament semifinal between UC Davis and Cal State Fullerton.
Tipoff will take place inside the Honda Center at 6:30 p.m. ESPN3 (also available on WatchESPN.com and the WatchESPN app) will air this matchup live online, with Dave Pasch (PBP) and Caron Butler (Analyst) calling the action from Anaheim, Calif.
ESPNU will televise this game on a delay, and begin this broadcast immediately after the other semifinal game, which tips at 9 p.m., concludes.
A radio broadcast is available on KSAC 105.5 FM, online through TuneIn Radio by searching the UC Davis Sports Network, or through TuneIn Radio's app.
Local UC Davis basketball fans looking to support their favorite basketball team with other like-minded individuals are encouraged to visit Woodstock's Pizza in Downtown Davis, site of UC Davis Athletics' official watch party. Woodstock's will broadcast all UC Davis men's (and women's) games taking place this weekend. Seating is first-come, first-served and there is no admission.
By defeating UC Riverside and Long Beach State in their respective games, UC Davis and Cal State Fullerton will battle for a berth in the Big West Tournament championship game one day shy of the anniversary of last year's semifinal clash, won by UC Davis at the buzzer in overtime.
That win led to the Aggies' first-ever berth in the championship game, one that ended in their favor over UC Irvine to give the program its inaugural berth in the NCAA Tournament.
Since dropping its home game to the Titans on Feb. 10 (by only two points), UC Davis won its following six games. Even though Cal State Fullerton swept the season series, the Aggies enter this tournament as the league's hottest team by ending the regular season with 10 wins in its final 12 games, which includes their current six-game win streak.
Series Record: UC Davis trails 19-16
Last UC Davis Win: 3/10/17 - N, 66-64 (OT)
Last Cal State Fullerton Win: 2/10/18 - H, 68-66
Series Streak: Cal State Fullerton +2
