DAVIS, Calif. - Kevin Nosek, an assistant on the men's basketball coaching staff the past four seasons, has been named the men's head basketball coach at Menlo College and will begin his new duties immediately.

"I am very excited about the chance for my first head coaching position," said Nosek. "I have been preparing myself for this over the past four years and feel I am ready to meet the challenges that this opportunity presents. I have a lot of great memories of my time at UC Davis, from being on the national championship team to the many great coaches and student-athletes I have worked with."

Nosek played for the Aggies from 1996-99, highlighting his career as a member of the 1998 NCAA Division II National Championship team.

He enjoyed his best collegiate game as a senior when he made four of five three-pointers against Holy Names during his senior season on his way to a career-high 12 points.

Nosek was a three-sport letterwinner at Davis High School and was an All-American water polo player. He was also named the school's Athlete of the Year in 1995.

Nosek graduated from UC Davis in June, 1999, earning his undergraduate degree in organizational studies. He is currently completing his master's degree in coaching.
