DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis men's basketball junior J.T. Adenrele suffered a left knee injury while performing a non-contact drill and will miss the 2013-14 season, head coach Jim Les announced Friday.

Adenrele, a 6-7 forward from Roseville, Calif., saw action in all 31 games for the Aggies, averaged 12.6 points, 5.9 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game in 2012-13 as a sophomore. Last year, he was also part of a roster that experienced a +10 Division I win differential from the 2011-12 season, one of the top 10 improvements in the nation.

“I feel bad for J.T., but based on his work ethic and personality, I have no doubt that he will turn the adversity of this injury into a positive experience,” said Les. “J.T.'s absence will also provide an opportunity for his teammates to show their true character.”
