DAVIS, Calif. - Freshman point guard Brynton Lemar has been selected as one of five freshmen to watch by ESPN's Myron Medcalf in his most recent article published on ESPN.com.
Recruited by numerous schools from across the country, Lemar will don a UC Davis uniform for the first time when the Aggies open the 2013-14 season with a home exhibition game on Nov. 4, against Menlo College, followed by their season opener at Portland four days later.
In addition to helping St. Augustine High School capture a state title with its seven-point victory at Sleep Train Arena last March, the 6-foot-3 San Diego native also received a litany of awards throughout his final season with the Saints.
What started with a Division III San Diego CIF championship, continued with a Southern California Division III Sectional crown, MVP honors and culminated with San Diego All-CIF First Team, Postseason Player of the Year and San Diego CIF Player of the Year accolades.
"It was exciting to end my high school career with a championship," said Lemar. "I am ready to work hard, compete against other teams at the Division I level and help the Aggies succeed."
UC Davis men's basketball will begin its season on Nov. 8, at Portland. To match the demand for tickets, UC Davis Athletics is now allowing current season ticket holders to renew their seats in addition to offering a six-game and full season plan for fans interested in witnessing UC Davis men's basketball firsthand at The Pavilion. Season tickets can be renewed or purchased online at ucdavisaggies.com, by contacting Melissa Tinsley directly by e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org or phone at (530) 752-1047.
