DAVIS, Calif. - With the start of the 2013-14 season rapidly approaching, NBC Sports recognized Corey Hawkins as one of its mid-major All-Americans. Hawkins received the highest ranking of the two Big West student-athletes recognized by NBC with his spot on the network's third team.

In his first season as an Aggie, Hawkins finished No. 13 in the nation in scoring at 20.3 ppg and became the first Aggie to collect a Big West scoring title. Besides earning a spot on the Lou Henson Mid-Major All-America team, he was recognized by the Big West Conference as its Newcomer of the Year in addition to receiving first team honors.

Last January, at Hawai'i, Hawkins scored a school record 40 points on 10 of 14 shooting to break a 34-year old single-game scoring record. That total is the highest recorded in a single regulation game, and road contest in the program's history. His eight three-point baskets also tied a UC Davis record for the most recorded in a game, and matched Hawai'i's all-time record for the most scored by an opponent in a single game.

In the most successful season to take place at UC Davis since the program's transition to Division I competition, fans of Aggie men's basketball also witnessed a +10 D-1 win improvement compared to the 2011-12 campaign (one of the top 10 turnarounds in the country), program highs with its overall, conference and road records in addition to a slew of new individual records.

UC Davis men's basketball will begin its season on Nov. 8, at Portland. To match the demand for tickets, UC Davis Athletics is now allowing current season ticket holders to renew their seats in addition to offering a six-game and full season plan for fans interested in witnessing UC Davis men's basketball firsthand at The Pavilion. Season tickets can be renewed, or purchased online at ucdavisaggies.com, by contacting Melissa Tinsley directly at (530) 752-1047 or by e-mail at mtinsley@ucdavis.edu.
