DAVIS, Calif. - In last year’s Causeway Cup matchup, UC Davis won the first-ever college basketball event hosted by the Golden 1 Center — the downtown home of the Sacramento Kings. For the second straight season, the Aggies and Hornets will square off inside this state-of-the-art facility when they meet on November 21.

Tipoff will take place at 7 p.m.

The defending Big West Conference champions, and NCAA Tournament participant, have won the last two head-to-head matchups, and will look to extend this streak when the schools compete on a neutral court for the second time in the last two decades. Before last season’s historic contest, the Capitol City Classic, which took place inside Arco Arena in 1989, marked the only neutral-site game out of the 114 previously played between UC Davis and Sacramento State.

The Aggies’ season will begin on Nov. 13, at Northern Colorado, in the first of a season-opening five-game road swing that also includes another rivalry game vs. Sacramento State at the Golden 1 Center — the state-of-the-art downtown home of the Sacramento Kings. A home-and-home series against Northern Colorado will conclude on Nov. 29 when the Aggies compete inside the Pavilion for the first time this year.
