Game Notes

DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's basketball team hosts North Dakota State Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at The Pavilion. The Aggies enter the game 2-2 on the year and winners of their past two games by an average of 24.5 points. The game can be heard live on KFSG 1690-AM as well as www.ucdavisaggies.com.

UC Davis is coming off an 88-59 victory over UC Santa Cruz last Wednesday in its home opener. Mark Payne scored a game-high 18 points and added a career-high eight steals. UC Davis never trailed in the game. Joe Harden and Dominic Calegari each added 16 points while Julian Welch finished with 15. The Aggies led 18-14 just past the midway point of the first half before going on a 14-0 run. The Aggies used a 17-4 run and another 14-0 run in the second half on their way to the 29-point victory.

North Dakota State enters the game 1-2 with a win at home against Minot State and losses to Utah Valley and Idaho. Junior forward Michael Tveidt leads the team with 17.7 points per game, and senior guard Josh Vaughan is averaging 16.0. NDSU is coming off of an NCAA Tournament appearance in 2008-09 after winning the Summit League in its first year of Division I eligibility. The Bison went 26-7 a year ago but lost four starters from the championship team.

This is the first meeting between the two teams. The game is the first of two on the week for UC Davis, which plays at Ball State on Saturday.
