DAVIS, Calif. - Senior Ryan Howley and sophomore Corey Hawkins have turned in top-10 efforts for UC Davis this season according to ESPN statistics with the former ranked fifth in the nation with 12.3 rebounds per game and the latter currently tied for eighth averaging 24.0 points per game.
Hawkins' .952 free throw percentage (20-for-21) is also the 29th-highest figure in the country.
The duo have led the Aggies in scoring and rebounding in every game played this season.
Currently possessing two conference-high rebounding marks, Howley is the only player in the Big West who is averaging 10 or more total rpg, and leads all players with 9.00 defensive rpg.
For the first time in his career, Howley posted double-digit rebound totals in a single game - an accomplishment that has happened on two occasions throughout the 2012-13 campaign. Howley is the only Aggie to grab 10 or more boards in a game this season.
The most prolific scorer in the Big West, his average is four points higher than his closest competitor, his nationally-ranked free-throw percentage also doubles as the second-highest mark in the conference even though he has taken, and connected on twice as many shots from the line compared to the conference's current leader.
The NCAA will publicize its inaugural set of national statistics next week.
UC Davis will continue its three-game road swing on Wednesday, Nov. 28, at Nevada. All UC Davis men's basketball games will air on KSAC (105.5 FM) and ucdavisaggies.com.
Season and single-game tickets for Aggie home games can be purchased through the "Tickets" link at ucdavisaggies.com, in person at the UC Davis Ticket Office, or by calling the ticket office at (530) 752-1915.
