DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis men’s basketball will hold its annual holiday toy drive on Saturday, Dec. 7, when the Aggies host the Nevada Wolf Pack. Fans who donate an unwrapped new toy upon arrival at The Pavilion will have the opportunity to purchase general admission seats for five dollars.
The first arriving students will also have an opportunity to receive a free long-sleeved shirt courtesy of Odwalla.
“UC Davis men’s basketball is honored to partner with Toys for Tots again this season to help children and families in need. Every child deserves a memorable Christmas,” said head coach Jim Les.
The mission of the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys each year and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted. The objectives of Toys for Tots are to help needy children throughout the United States experience the joy of Christmas; to play an active role in the development of one of our nation’s most valuable natural resources–our children; to unite all members of local communities in a common cause and to contribute to better communities in the future.
To receive discounted admission, only one toy needs to be donated. However, fans from either team can donate as many items as they would like.
Tipoff for Saturday’s game is scheduled for 7 p.m. To learn more about Toys For Tots, visit http://www.toysfortots.org/.
