DAVIS, Calif - UC Davis and San Francisco will face one another for the first time since 1976 when the Aggies head to The City for Friday night’s non-conference matchup. This is also the first of four Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic games taking place throughout the next nine days.
After facing the Dons, UC Davis will travel to Reno to square off against Nevada on Tuesday before all eight tournament teams head to the Orleans Arena, in Las Vegas, to play their final two games of this event.
Also participating in this year’s Classic are Lamar, UC Davis' opponent next Friday, Radford, North Carolina A&T, Southern Illinois and Duquesne.
San Francisco has enjoyed a unique luxury this season: all but one of its eight games took place at home and all five wins earned this season took place inside War Memorial at the Sobrato Center. The Aggies, winners of their last four straight and five of their last six, will look to secure a similar result as the two other Big West teams that visited San Francisco last month. Long Beach State and UC Santa Barbara each left USF with wins that took place during its season-opening homestand.
After opening its year with a five-game road swing, these next four games mark the final time during the regular season that UC Davis will embark on a lengthy trip. Once tournament action concludes, the Aggies will have two opportunities to extend their 14-game home win streak before they compete in another road contest.
Once Big West play begins, UC Davis’ longest remaining regular season road trip is only two games.
Series Record: UC Davis trails 6-1
Last UC Davis Win: 1939-40, 45-30
Last San Francisco Win: 11/29/76 - A, 120-71
Series Streak: San Francisco +5
