DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis’ trip through Nevada will continue this week when the Aggies, and seven other teams participating in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic, head to Las Vegas for their final two games of the event before heading home for the holidays.
On the team’s schedule is a 2:30 p.m. tilt vs. Lamar on Friday, and a game against Radford or North Carolina A&T Saturday afternoon. An Aggie victory will draw a matchup against the NCAT/Radford winner at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. The teams that drop their Friday contest will end tournament play with a game that tips at 12 p.m.
Due to station regulations, KSAC 105.5 will broadcast Friday’s UC Davis-Lamar game on a tape delay, starting at 6 p.m. However, Aggie basketball fans can listen to Scott Marsh’s live broadcast online through TuneIn Radio, or on its app, by searching for the UC Davis Sports Network.
Since this game is not televised, and a live stream is unavailable, accessing TuneIn Radio or KSAC 105.5 FM’s broadcast is the only way to follow the Aggies’ games in Las Vegas.
UC Davis will enter the Orleans Arena after dropping Tuesday’s game to Nevada, the defending Mountain West Conference champions and preseason league favorites. With two days off between tournament games, the Aggies will prep for two games within a 26-hour timespan — a similar situation UC Davis will face at the Big West Conference Tournament this March should it advance to semifinal round.
After winning eight of their first nine games of the season, Lamar dropped its first two Classic games at Southern Illinois on Sunday, and at Duquesne on Tuesday.
Known nationwide or its defense, UC Davis is holding opponents to a league-low 65.5 points per game this season. By contrast, Lamar has averaged 77.5 points per game this year and holds a scoring margin of +13.7.
