DAVIS, Calif. - After defeating Lamar in dominating fashion on Friday, UC Davis will face Radford in its final game of the Continental Tire Las Vegas Classic. Saturday’s game from the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas will tip at 2:30 p.m.
Since this game is not televised, and a live stream is unavailable, accessing TuneIn Radio or KSAC 105.5 FM’s broadcast is the only way to follow the Aggies’ matchup vs. Radford. Broadcasts on all audio mediums will begin at 2 p.m. with Scott Marsh’s pregame show.
Even though Radford defeated North Carolina A&T by six points in its first Las Vegas game, the Highlanders nearly squandered a 15-point lead and needed to hit their free throws within the final minute to keep NCAT at bay. Those Aggies has an opportunity to tie the game, but missed a baseline jumper and were forced to foul to preserve as much time as possible.
That result stopped what could have been a three-game slide for Radford.
Our Aggies experienced a different type of game on Friday, one that saw them hit threes at clutch times, end the first half on a 10-4 run, and piece together a 12-2 run in the second half to create a comfortable cushion vs. Lamar.
UC Davis enjoyed a complete team effort vs. the Cardinals with assists recorded on 17 of its 25 field goals, nine of 10 Aggies recording points and a defense that forced 17 LU miscues for 30 Aggie points.
This is the penultimate non-conference game for the Aggies, a team that will return to action on Dec. 30 at home before opening Big West play on Jan. 4 vs. UC Irvine.
UC Davis and Radford last met 50 years ago (Dec. 2) in a game the Aggies won by a 67-73 score.
