UC Davis and Idaho State Set for Big Sky Opener

Aggies try for first win of the season with

2001: Appeared in 11 games at right corner, starting nine... Had 35 tackles (26 solos)... Also credited with 2 tackles for losses of 10 yards, including 9-yard sack of Cal St. Northridge?s Marcus Brady... Led team with 7 passes defensed... Posted second career INT against Western Washington... Missed dates with Cal Poly and Sacramento State due to MCL tear in his left knee... Was expected to lose 4-6 weeks, but returned for Central Washington game (in which he was 3-0-3 on tackles chart)... Hit season-high 7 tackles on three occasions: at former team Abilene Christian (6-1-7), vs. Western Washington (6-1-7) and in NCAA quarterfinal with Tarleton State (4-3-7).

CAREER POSTSEASON: Has 26 total tackles (18 solos).

2000: Won team?s JIM FERRIER AWARD as outstanding transfer... Finished 3rd with 56 tackles... Total of 44 unassisted tackles ranks 5th on school?s single-season list... Posted 9 solos vs. Central Washington.. Had lone INT in 4th quarter of Causeway Classic... Had one tackle-for-loss, coming against Mesa State in NCAA quarterfinal... Missed two early-season games due to arthroscopic surgery in his right knee.

1999: Redshirted at UC Davis.

ABILENE CHRISTIAN (TEXAS): HONORABLE MENTION ALL-LONE STAR CONFERENCE at cornerback in 1998... Also a nominee for Freshman of the Year honors... Posted 40 tackles, 10 pass break-ups, 2 fumble recoveries and a forced fumble.

SAM HOUSTON HS ?98: Earned All-District 7-5A, all-area, all-region during both junior and senior years... Had 62 tackles, 4 sacks and 2 INTs (one for a TD) as a junior linebacker... Moved over to strong safety the following year, recording 55 tackles, 2 sacks and another TD... Named among top 300 players in the state... Also a standout in track and field... Part of 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams that won back-to-back district titles... Graduated Magna Cum Laude, posting perfect 4.0 GPA... Member of National Honor Society.
