Offense erupts as UC Davis beats Southern Oregon, 52-35

UC Davis evens its record at 1-1

UC DAVIS CAREER LISTS: Enters senior year with 1,618 career rushing yards, 9th in school history... Needs 195 to surpass Shawn Rogers (1981-83) for 8th, 197 to move ahead of Matt Massari (2001-02) for 7th... With 382 yards, will become just the 7th player in Aggie annals to break 2,000-yard milestone... With 96 receptions, could surpass Shola Adeyemo (112 from 1987-90) for the most career catches by a RB... Note: Mike Ichiyama, who had 128 receptions from 1992-94, played most of his career as a slot receiver.

2009: Started all 11 games, leading Aggies with 395 rushing yards on 119 carries... Added 30-for-206 receiving... Scored 5 total touchdowns (4 rush, 1 rec)... Enjoyed his best overall game at Portland State: season-high 60 yards on the ground plus a 30-yard catch to set up Sean Kelley's game-winning field goal in 4th quarter... Pulled down season-best 4 receptions vs. Fresno State and Western Oregon... Lone receiving TD was 18-yarder vs. Winston-Salem State.

2008: ALL-GREAT WEST CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM... Started 8 games, missing a pair of 2-game stints due to injury... Led team in rushing, amassing 547 yards and 3 touchdowns on 125 carries... Also caught 19 passes for 150 yards... Broke 100-yard milestone on three occasions: 156 vs. Portland State, 113 vs. Northern Colorado, 114 vs. Sacramento State... Season-best total vs. PSU was aided by 58-yard TD in first quarter... With 1,223 career rushing yards, needs just 98 to enter program's all-time top 10 list (Jerold Ligons had 1,321 from 1983-86)... Rushed for 1,000th career yard late in UNC game, marking the second time an Aggie has reached that standard as a sophomore (Shola Adeyemo, 1987)... Caught 4 passes for season-best 51 yards vs. San Diego.

2007: Won Aggies' MIKE WISE AWARD as outstanding freshman of the year... Played in 10 games (sitting out North Dakota State), starting eight... Led team in rushing attempts (90), yards (676) and touchdowns (8), while adding 39 receptions for 314 yards and 2 more scores... Rushing yardage total is highest ever by a UC Davis freshman... Also had 4 kick returns for 70 yards for team-best 1,060 all-purpose yards... Made collegiate debut with 19-for-189 rushing and 5-for-86 receiving vs. Western Washington, earning team's Offensive Player of the Week honors... Single-game total of 189 ground yards is most by a UC Davis freshman since G.P. Muhammad (then Gerald Burgin) ran for 210 in 1995... Aided by 90-yard TD run early in third quarter vs. WWU, second-longest in school history behind Jim Wilson's 94-yard scamper in 1953... Cracked century mark twice more: 22-for-104 vs. Northeastern, 13-for-101 vs. San Diego... Collected 10 receptions for 80 yards and a TD strike vs. Eastern Washington.

2006: Redshirted... Selected as team's Scout Offense Player of the Week after Southern Utah game.

CASA GRANDE HS '06: Set school and Redwood Empire career rushing records at 5,447 yards... All-state selection in both 2003 and 2005... Led Redwood Empire with 1,661 yards as a senior, helping team capture Sonoma County League title... Earned SCL Player of the Year distinction that season... Had league-best 1,778 rushing yards in 2004, earning honorable mention on San Francisco Chronicle All-Metro squad... Rushed for career-best 2,008 yards as a sophomore, garnering Redwood Empire Player of the Year honors... Also excelled in track, reaching North Coast Section finals in 200 meters, 400 meters and 4x100 relay.

PERSONAL: Born in Santa Rosa, Calif.... Majoring in organizational studies... Parents are Grant & Kathleen Trombetta, whom he lists as non-sports heroes... Career highlight was becoming the Redwood Empire's all-time leading rusher.
