2013: Played in nine games, picking up his lone start in opener at South Dakota... Had 13 catches for 74 yards during the season... Posted season-high 23 receiving yards on two catches against Coyotes in that start... Had season-best 17-yard reception on the sideline late in third quarter at USD... Had three other games with two receptions.

2012: Appeared in all 11 games, primarily as a reserve tight end... Finished the year with 11 catches for 112 yards and one touchdown... Had two games with two receptions and 21 yards each, the first at San Jose State and the second against Weber State... Only touchdown on the year came at Idaho State when he hauled in a 10-yard pass from Randy Wright in the third quarter, giving UC Davis a 38-24 lead.

2011: Appeared in all 11 games and started one at tight end as a true freshman... Finished with three catches for 31 yards and one touchdown... Had a three-yard touchdown reception in a win over San Diego... Hauled in a season-long 23-yard catch at Southern Utah.

Selected to All-Southern Section first team as a junior and senior... Also named Seaview League MVP and All-Orange County in 2010... Helped Hawks compile a 35-3 record and a CIF-SS title (2008) during his three years... Also lettered in baseball and basketball, earning team MVP honors in the latter.

PERSONAL: Born in Laguna Hills, Calif.... Majoring in biological sciences... Hopes for career as an orthodontist or oral surgeon... Parents are Johnson and Nancy Martindale... Would amend his sports by having music played inside the helmets.
