Moved into 9th in career tackles (190), 10th in career TFLs (17.0)... Also broke up 3 passes and had 2 interceptions for 35 yards... Also had 4.0 tackles for losses of 19 yards, plus one pass break-up... Posted 44 tackles in four-game stretch: 6-4-10 vs. Cal Poly, 4-4-8 vs. Southern Utah, season-best 7-8-15 vs. South Dakota State, 1-10-11 vs. Sacramento State... Added 2.5 TFL (14 yds) in SUU win.
2006: Co-winner of COACHES AWARD as most improved player... Played in all 11 games, making first start in finale vs. San Diego... Finished with 33 tackles (14 solos, 19 assists), including 4.0 for losses of 20 yards... TFL total includes two assisted sacks for 12 yards... Also had a 2-yard interception at Montana State and a pass break-up at Northern Colorado... Tallied season-best 8 tackles (5-3-8) including 1.5 TFLs against Sacramento State.
ST. FRANCIS HS '05: Two-sport standout, excelling in both football and wrestling to earn school's Athlete of the Year award... Named to All-San Jose Mercury News, All-West Catholic Athletic League and All-Peninsula first teams on the gridiron... Selected as WCAL Linebacker of the Year... Also captured second-team All-Metro honors... Earned Central Coast Section Defensive Player of the Week merit... Posted 78 tackles, including 20 for losses of 35 yards; and 8 sacks for 28 yards... Also blocked three punts, had four fumble recoveries, two interceptions and two defensive touchdowns... Two-time WCAL champion in wrestling, advancing to state championships... Earned Scholar-Athlete honors in 2004-05, finishing with 3.63 grade-point average.
