2017: Started in all 11 games of the season as a sophomore, claiming second on the defensive leaderboard with 65 total tackles… Recorded six or more tackles in six games played, including two career-high 10-tackle games against San Diego and Cal Poly… Finished with 28 solo and 37 assisted tackles… Found the backfield four times costing opponents 12 yards… The inside linebacker additionally picked up a quarterback hurry at Northern Arizona… Led the defense in the home opener versus San Diego with three solo and seven assisted tackles… The next weekend, recorded four solo tackles and three assisted including a tackle for loss at Portland State… Also had a career high nine assisted tackles against Cal Poly… Closed the season with a strong performance at Sacramento State with five solo and three assisted tackles, including a tackle for a loss of three yards.

2016: ALL-BIG SKY HONORABLE MENTION...Saw action in ten games this season, earning starts in every game except Weber State... Finished with a total of 60 tackles (33 unassisted)... Picked up four tackles for loss (14 yards)... Recorded his first career sack at Southern Utah on October 8, costing the SUU offense nine yards... Also recorded a quarterback hurry versus Northern Colorado... His biggest defensive performance came against Portland State at home on November 5 in which he recorded seven unassisted and two assisted tackles.


ST. JOHN BOSCO '15: Selected All-Trinity League second team and Long Beach Press-Telegram second-team defense... Had the fourth-highest tackle total in CIF-Southern Section Pac-5 Div. I... Posted an impressive 126 total tackles, including 85 solo stops, during his senior season... Was member of St. John Bosco HS team that won California State Open Bowl in 2013... The Braves were also national champions by and in USA Today and MaxPreps computer rankings... Anesi had five games with at least 10 tackles in 2014, including a season-high 17 (13 solo) against Santa Margarita which capped a run of three straight games with at least 11 tackles... Had 15 stops in season-finale against Centennial... Recovered 3 fumbles... Finished his prep career with 181 total tackles (119 solo) as well as 555 rushing yards, a majority of the latter coming during his junior season when he also scored 14 TDs... Four-year honor roll member.

PERSONAL: Born in Torrance, Calif... Parents are Leilua and Cliff Anesi... Is a longtime rugby player.
