After a one-year stint at Utah State, Eric Sanders returns for his second year at his alma mater to serve as linebackers coach. Sanders was involved with the UC Davis program both as a undergraduate and after earning his bachelor's degree in psychology in 2005. From 2003 to 2005, he was the team's video coordinator while also maintaining all technological aspects of the Aggies' program.
He moved into a role as an assistant coach for the 2006 season, assisting Mike Moroski with the offensive line. Sanders coached the tight ends during spring drills in 2007. He became a graduate assistant at Utah State for the 2007 season, working with the defensive line.
A native of San Francisco, Calif., Sanders traveled to the Far East in 2005 for coaches clinics with the American Football in China Exchange Association.
