BIGGS ON RECRUITING CLASS
"It's the first time that we've ever had a traditional signing period where we've had this many committals. The thing that I'm most impressed with is not just the quality of them as players, but I really like the character of this group. They're good kids, they have good work ethics and they come highly recommended for a lot of different qualities. I'm very, very pleased with the staff and the kind of kids they brought in this year."

THE ADVANTAGES TO RECRUITING TO UC DAVIS
"We had so much more to offer. First and foremost is the quality of the education. With the grants that we're able to give, with the stadium being completed in 2005, a goal of moving into a new conference in the near future, and the prospect for this group to be eligible for the I-AA playoffs (in 2007), as they'll redshirt this year, there were just so many incentives there for them (recruits) to really take a hard look at UC Davis."

ON RECRUITING FOR THE FUTURE
"When you recruit, what you hope is that you can put good years back to back. We think we answered a lot of questions about holes that we needed to fill for the future. I think we've done that and it gives us a great foundation for the future. We're not going to see the total effect of these last two recruiting classes for another couple of years as they redshirt. We said from the get-go when we moved into this increased grant-in-aid program, is to put ourselves into a position in 2007 when we have the opportunity to be competitive for a playoff position in I-AA, we want to be there."
