DAVIS, Calif. - The inaugural Picnic Day Practice & Kids Fest will take place on Saturday, April 22, when UC Davis football conducts its final spring practice from 10:30 a.m.-12 p.m. at Howard Field -- located west of Toomey Field & Woody Wilson Stadium (its former home).
While head coach Dan Hawkins conducts the team's workout, families can take advantage of an interactive kids zone, featuring a bounce house and games for kids of all ages. Once practice concludes, kids will have an opportunity to meet players, participate in football-related drills of their own and collect autographs.
During practice, UC Davis play-by-play announcer Scott Marsh will entertain fans as the event's MC and organize interviews with players and coaches. As was the case during the team's Division II days, everyone in attendance can take the field once practice is over to meet with coaches and student-athletes on a more personal level, and learn more about the upcoming season.
Even though seating is available, fans are more than welcome to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs to watch practice.
UC Davis' inaugural Give Day will kick off at 12 p.m. on Friday, April 21, and conclude at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. All alumni, fans, and friends of UC Davis Athletics are encouraged to participate!
UC Davis Athletics is actively building the ideal Division I athletics experience, and by making a donation to it on Give Day, you will provide important new resources to our student-athletes and teams. For additional information about Give Day, visit https://giveday.ucdavis.edu.
