Official FCS Coaches Poll Release

SPARTANBURG, S.C. - UC Davis received seven votes and is unofficially ranked in a tie for 41st in the FCS Coaches Preseason Poll released on Tuesday morning.

The Aggies were one of seven teams from the Big Sky Conference to either be ranked in the coaches top 25 or receive consideration. UC Davis will play five of those teams this season, including three at home.

Northern Arizona, ranked 18th, will visit Aggie Stadium for the home-opener on Sept. 14, No. 22 Montana comes in for the annual homecoming game on Oct. 12 and rival Cal Poly, preseason ranked 11th, visits for the Battle for the Golden Horseshoe on Nov. 2.

The Aggies will hit the road for No. 2 Montana State on Oct. 26 and will conclude the regular season against Causeway Classic rival Sacramento State, which received three votes and is unofficially ranked in a tie for 50th.

Defending national champion North Dakota State received 23 of 26 first-place votes and is ranked No. 1 entering the season with Big Sky members Montana State and Eastern Washington, along with Sam Houston State and Wofford rounding out the top five.

With half of UC Davis' home opponents receiving mention by the FCS Coaches, the schedule of games at Aggie Stadium is an exciting one. Tickets are available by contacting the UC Davis Ticket Office at (530) 754-AGS1 or visiting www.ucdavisaggies.com.

The FCS Coaches Poll is based exclusively on a voting panel of head coaches in the FCS under the cooperation of the Collegiate Commissioners Association (CCA) and the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) and is administered by the Southern Conference.
