DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis will play its first-ever football game against the University of Hawai'i when the Aggies visit the Warriors for a nonconference matchup at Aloha Stadium in 2011, it was announced by both schools on Wednesday.
The game is scheduled for Sept. 24, 2011 and will be played at the 50,000-seat stadium in Honolulu. Hawai'i, member of the Western Athletic Conference, was 6-7 this past season and 7-7 in 2008. It enjoyed a memorable campaign in 2007, finishing the regular season undefeated (12-0) before advancing to play Georgia in the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.
Among the Warriors' wins in 2009 was a 24-17 victory against visiting Navy over Thanksgiving weekend, part of a four-game winning streak during the latter part of the season.
