UC Davis WEB
Aggie Football Gameday

AN IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO AGGIE FANS

Full Release in PDF Format

Football season is just around the corner and we are excited to open our 2008 home schedule in Aggie Stadium on the UC Davis campus. In preparation for our first home football game on September 13 against Portland State University, we would like to remind you of the rules and regulations pertaining to the consumption of alcohol and ask for your cooperation.

The size and location of Aggie Stadium offers unique opportunities to foster traditions of spirit and support for student life, while also contributing to the stewardship of university community members, alumni, donors, and friends. The attached document provides important information pertaining to approved Game Day Activities and spectator parking. The defined activities and designated parking areas are the same as last year and were developed by a committee composed of individuals from the Office of Administration, University Relations, Student Affairs, and student constituencies.

As a friendly reminder, all Aggie Stadium spectators must be cognizant that the University of California, Davis is obligated to support the laws of the state of California. UC Davis police officers are responsible for responding to and correcting problems in the parking lots and other venues associated

with the display of open alcoholic beverage containers and/or the consumption of alcoholic beverages. While we want you to enjoy your day at the Stadium and the social activities that surround it, we are asking you to do so responsibly and in compliance with UC Davis policy and associated laws.

Please read the attached Game Day Activities document and observe the laws and rules that govern the use of UC Davis facilities. Again, welcome back to campus for the start of the 2008 season!

Sincerely,

Annette M. Spicuzza
Chief of Police

Greg Warzecka
Director of Athletics

Special Event Activities For Sponsored Organizations

The following information outlines how sponsored groups intending to provide beer and wine service on game days will use special event areas. The three specific areas located inside and outside of Aggie Stadium are:

The Bruce Edwards Club Room:

The Club Room is located on the ground level of the press box on the west side of the stadium where all TeamAGGIE reserved / season ticket holders sit (a non-student section). ICA will use this room as a gathering spot for select groups of donors and special guests of the university. Food, beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages will be served pre-game and at half-time in this room.

* The Bruce Edwards Club Room is located within the controlled Box Seat area and is not accessible to General Admission spectators.

* Processes for controlled entry and exit from the Club Room (so that alcohol does not leave the premises) will be handled by stadium security.

* UCD student seating is located on the east side of the stadium.

Streng, Taormino and Warren Grove:

The Streng, Taormino and Warren Grove, located on the south-west lawn area outside of the stadium is the primary gathering area for TeamAGGIE donors and other campus units wishing to participate. The activities involve:

1. A cordoned off area that will allow TeamAGGIE members to relax and enjoy pre-game camaraderie. While the space is limited, other campus units or departments might coordinate a joint effort with ICA. For further information please call (530) 757-8468.

2. Food service provided through a corporate sponsor. Picnicking will also be allowed for fans wanting to bring pre-made food. No outside alcohol will be permitted.

3. Beer, wine and non-alcohol beverages will be available for purchase. Alcohol service would be controlled through the sale of a ticket and wrist bracelet. No one will be allowed to leave the area with alcohol. Service will conclude 15 minutes prior to kick-off.
