Todd Hammond enters his tenth season as an assistant coach at his alma mater with his primary function on player development. He helps organize and run practices with an emphasis on designing individual practice schedules for each player.
Hammond focuses on short game routines having attended the three-day Dave Pelz Short Game Clinic in Palm Springs. Hammond also helps with recruiting.
A 1986
graduate of UC Davis, he was a four-year starter on the Aggie golf team under Joe Carlson. Hammond competed at the NCAA Div. II Championships in 1983 and 1985, winning the NCAA Long Drive Competition in Houston in 1985 with a 285-yard average. He graduated with a degree in economics and promptly went to work as a photojournalist at the Davis Enterprise for the next 14 years. During that time, he competed in various amateur tournaments.
Hammond also has a photography business that he owns and operates with his wife, Barbara.
