WAIKOLOA, Hawaii - Matt Hansen and Tyler Raber each shot 1-over 73's on Friday at the Amer Ari Invitational at Waikola Village's Kings' Course, as the No. 50 UC Davis men's golf team finished 16th in its first tournament of the spring season.

Hansen, who opened the event with a 71 on Wednesday, tied for 48th at 2-over 218 while Raber tied for 60th at 4-over. Matt Seramin tied for 70th after his 3-over 222 left him 6-over for the tournament while Jonny Baxter and Ben Corfee each had 77's. Baxter tied for 97th at 11 over while Corfee was 18 over and finished 112th.

UC Davis was 23 over for the 54-hole tournament. Half of the 20-team field is ranked in Golfstat's top 50.

Fourth-ranked UCLA made up a two-shot deficit against No. 7 Washington, tying the Huskies for the team title at 22 under. TCU had the second-best round of the day - 7 under - and finished third at 15 under. Georgia Tech, USC and Texas - all ranked in the top 10 - tied for fourth at 14 under.

"We've got a good team," said Aggie coach Cy Williams. "We didn't play that great. We made some mistakes you can't make in a field like this. (But) we made mistakes that we can fix."

Hansen opened his day with a pair of bogeys but four birdies the rest of the way helped him finish with a 73. Raber had 13 pars - including seven in a row at the start of his round - while also collecting two birdies and three bogeys.

Seramin birdied two of his first four holes, quickly moving to 2 under, to help highlight his day. Baxter and Corfee each scrambled to their 77's, picking up four pars along the way.

Dominic Bozzelli of Auburn had a final-round 67 on Friday, rallying from third place to win by two shots at 11 under.

UC Davis will return to the mainland and prepare for The Prestige at PGA WEST which it will co-host with Stanford from Feb. 17-20 in La Quinta, Calif. The tournament will once again feature a highly competitive field as well as the always popular junior clinic and also college-am.
