STANFORD, Calif. - Luke Vivolo shot a 2-over 70 during Saturday's rainy second round of The Goodwin at Stanford as the UC Davis men's golf team ended the day in 14th place.

UC Davis shot a 15-over 285 team score and are in 14th place with one round remaining. Vivolo's 72 led the Aggies on Saturday and put him in a tie for 32nd place at 3 over. Matt Hansen and Nicolas Noya each fired 73s and are 6 over and 8 over, respectively.

Jonny Baxter is 9 over after posting 77 in the second round while Ben Corfee shot 79 and is 10 over.

The host Cardinal, ranked seventh by Golfstat, are 11 under and lead No. 18 UCLA (-5) by six shots. Oregon, ranked 45th, is 2 under and in third while No. 19 Washington is fourth at 1 under. The Aggies trail No. 43 TCU, ranked 43rd, by just one shot and are within four shots of two other ranked teams - No. 22 UNLV (+18) and No. 33 San Diego State (+20).

Vivolo opened the weekend tournament with a 71 on Friday and nearly equaled that on Saturday. He was 1 over after nine holes and eventually moved to 3 over before a birdie on the par-3 eighth hole helped him finish 2 over.

Noya cut two strokes off his opening-round score after shooting 73 on Saturday. He had two birdies in the round and played his final five holes a shot below par. Noya is tied for 62nd. Hansen. who's tied for 49th, birdied the sixth and 16th holes while covering the back nine 1 over and the front side 2 over.

Baxter had a birdie on the par-5 first hole to help highlight his day while Corfee had two birdies on his final nine holes which he played just a shot over par. Baxter is tied for 69th and Corfee is tied for 74th.

 

 

Stanford's Patrick Rodgers maintained the individual lead after shooting 69. He is 8 under overall and has a three-shot lead over teammate Maverick McNealy and Rico Hoey of USC.

The final round at Stanford Golf Course begins at 8 a.m. on Sunday.
