MEADOW VISTA, Calif. - Matt Seramin shot a three-under 69 to tie for second place while Jonny Baxter's 72 puts him in a tie for seventh place as UC Davis leads the field at the Winchester Classic after the first day of action on Friday in Meadow Vista.

The Aggies, who are co-hosting the tournament with Nevada, finished at 2-over and lead the field by two strokes as Sacramento State is in second place at four over. Fresno State is in third at seven over.

Seramin's 69 is a season-low for the sophomore who is just one stroke off the leader, Nevada's Kevin Lucas. Seramin is tied with Jarred Bossio of Idaho for second place.

Baxter finished even to tie with Fresno State's Nate Jessup for seventh place while freshman Luke Vivolo is just two stroke back and tied for 11th at 2-over 74.

Mike Brockington is tied for 17th at 3-over 75 while Josh Granger is tied for 28th at 5-over 77.

Play continues on Saturday with an 8 a.m. fixed tee time start.
