BREMERTON, Wash. -- UC Davis junior Austin Graham fired a 1-over 73 on Friday during the second round of the NCAA Division I Men's Golf West Regional, moving up six spots into a tie for 25th at the 7,104-yard Olympic Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club.

Graham's round of 73 is a two-shot improvement over his opening-round 75 on Thursday and put him in a tie at 4-over 148 with six other players. The Aggie junior is one of 10 individuals in the 54-hole tournament who are joined by 13 teams. The top five teams at end of play on Saturday, along with the highest-placing individuals not on one of those teams, will advance to the NCAA Finals next month in Tennessee.

Graham is playing in his second straight NCAA West Regional and is ranked 92nd by Golfweek.

Host Washington, which enjoys a commanding 16-shot lead, has the individual leader in Darren Wallace. He shot a 3-under 69 and is at 5-under 139. Teammate Richard Lee is tied with Espen Kofstad of Denver - playing as an individual - a shot back.

The Huskies carded a 5-under 283 team score and are at 7-under 569 for the tournament. Illinois is a distant second at 9-over 585 with USC and San Diego each just one shot behind.

Graham will be among the final groups to tee off the last round on Saturday morning. He will play with Michael Gideon of Fresno State and Gabe Maier of Wyoming at 9:50.
