BREMERTON, Wash. - Matt Hansen, Luke Vivolo and Mike Brockington each fired even par-72 rounds on Tuesday as the UC Davis men's golf team improved its score for the second straight day, en route to a 10th-place finish at the Kikkor Golf Husky Invitational at the University of Washington.

The trio, combined with a 73 from Josh Granger, enabled the Aggies to shoot a 1-over 289 in the final round. It was the fifth-best score among the 15 teams on Tuesday. Jonny Baxter added a 75 for UC Davis.

Hansen led the way with a 13th-place finish at even par, Brockington was 2 over and tied for 20th, Baxter finished 5 over and tied for 32nd, Vivolo tied for 46th at 8 over, and Granger tied for 60th at 13 over.

The Aggies maintained their 10th-place position after Monday's opening 36 holes, finishing just two strokes back of San Diego State, Oregon and USC which tied for seventh, and were only three shots from fifth place. Washington blitzed to an 18-shot win over second-place Arizona State after finishing 17 under.

Hansen followed his strong round of 71 in Monday's second round with another outstanding effort on Tuesday. Starting on the 10th hole, he birdied the par-5 14th hole and the par-4 18th to help him play the back nine a shot below par. Hansen got to 2 under after a birdie on the second hole before eventually coming in even for the day.

Vivolo had four birdies - two on each side - and added 11 pars. His only blemishes were two bogeys and one double-bogey. He played a 10-hole stretch two shots under par to help fuel his round. Brockington had back-to-back birdies on the 13th and 14th holes, and later added one on the second hole to spark his 72. He was 1 under on the back side.

Granger had the best improvement of any UC Davis player, rebounding from a 79 in the second round to shoot 73 on Tuesday. He had four birdies in the last round and covered the front nine even. Baxter was 2 over after his first nine holes but then was just 1 over on his last nine, ending the day well with a birdie on the par-5 ninth hole.

First-day leader Cheng-Tsung Pan of Washington posted a 67 in the final round and was 11 under for the tournament to earn medalist honors. He beat Michael Anderson of Washington State and Joe Parkinson of BYU by five strokes.

The tournament was the first of the year for UC Davis which will head to the midwest this weekend for the Windon Memorial at Northwestern on Monday and Tuesday.
