Aggies finish 11th at Marquette Intercollegiate

HARTFORD, Wisc. - Sophomore Matt Robinson and senior Evan Knight each turned in 2-over-par 74 scores for UC Davis' low round on the final day of the Marquette Intercollegiate men's collegiate golf tournament at Erin Hills Tuesday. The Aggies finished in a tie for 11th place in the 15-team field.


Knight, who birdied three holes on the front nine to close out his tournament, finished in a tie for 27th place. Robinson drained a birdie-2 on the ninth, completing a 16-place jump to T37th on the individual leaderboard. Freshman Thomas Hutchison carded a 4-over 76 to finish with a 227-stroke total, good for second among the UC Davis contingent and T34th for the tourney.


Junior Jesse Bratz scored a 5-over 77 to grab a share of 51st place, while senior Brandon Baumgarten rounded out the Aggie field with his weekend-best 75. He totaled 231 strokes for the 54 holes, joining him with Bratz for that T51st.


Florida State's Harry Ellis and Marquette's Austin Kendziorski each finished at 3-under 213 for the individual medalist race. Texas A&M ran away with the team title, firing a 2-under 286 in Wednesday's round for a 866 total, 11 strokes in front of second-place UCLA.


UC Davis returns for short week of practice before heading out to Evanston, Illinois, for Northwestern's Windon Memorial Classic from Sunday through Tuesday.
