STOCKTON, Calif. -- Nate Pistacchio's 3-under 69 in Wednesday's final round of the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational gave him his third straight round below 70 as UC Davis tied for sixth in its final tournament of the fall season.

Four Aggie golfers finished the 54-hole tournament below par.

UC Davis had a team score of 1-over 289 to end the three-day event at 19-under 845. The Aggies tied with San Jose State which shot 283. Top-ranked Charlotte blistered the 6,777-yard Brookside Country Club course on the final day with a 17-under score of 271 to finish at 40-under 824 and win the 14-team event by two shots over Kansas State. The 49ers last month captured The Prestige at PGA WEST, co-hosted by UC Davis at La Quinta.

Pistacchio, a junior from Fresno, led UC Davis with an overall score of 11-under 205, just one shot off the school record and tied with teammate Ramie Sprinkling for season-best honors. Sprinkling posted his 205 at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational last month.

Pistacchio opened up his final round with the first of four birdies to tie for sixth in the individual standings with Nick Delio of Cal State Northridge and Mike Van Sickle of Marquette.

He was the only Aggie to break par on Wednesday but was one of four UC Davis players among the top 31 places. Freshman Austin Graham shot a 72 in his final round which included 16 pars. His 4-under 212 tied him for 22nd.

Senior Matt Marshall and junior Ramie Sprinkling each tied for 31st at 2-under 214 with Marshall shooting 75 in the third round and Sprinkling carding a 73. The Aggies' Brent Booth also had a 75, tying for 58th in the final standings at 224.

Stefan Wiedergruen of Charlotte had his second 66 of the tournament and won medalist honors at 17-under 199. Grant Doverspike of Fresno State placed second, three shots back.

Three teams ranked in the top 50 by Golfstat were in the tournament with UC Davis finishing ahead of No. 44 Ohio State, which was eighth.

UC Davis will return to competition in early February when they play in the Waikoloa Intercollegiate in Waikoloa, Hawaii.
