DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's golf team travels south as part of a field of 14 teams that will compete at The Farms Collegiate Invitational Mar. 12-13 at The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe, Calif.

No. 15 San Diego State, No. 34 Saint Mary's and No. 44 SMU highlight the 14-team field that will play at the par 72, 6,947-yard The Farms Golf Club in Rancho Santa Fe.

UC Davis will join fellow Big West Conference affiliates UC Santa Barbara and UC Irvine at the two-day tournament while host San Diego is ranked 56th nationally. Connecticut, Fresno State, Missouri, Santa Clara, UTEP, Wyoming and Yale complete the field.

The first round will tee off with an 8:15 a.m. shotgun start on Monday, Mar. 12 while Tuesday's second round will tee off from holes No. 1 and 10 beginning at 7:27 a.m.

UC Davis will send just four Aggies to the tournament: Josh Granger, Jonny Baxter, Mike Brockington and Luke Vivolo.

Granger is averaging 71 strokes per round and owns the team's two lowest rounds, both of which he achieved during fall competition. The junior shot a 66 in his final round at The Prestige at PGA WEST and carded a 67 in first round action at the Alister MacKenzie Invitational.

Most recently, Granger finished all square with Oregon's Daniel Miernicki, ranked 27th nationally at the time, at the Del Walker Match Play Championship in Long Beach. He rallied from a two down deficit after 13 holes and chipped in an eagle on the par-4 14th hole in the match.

Baxter, Brockington and Vivolo have provided strong play for UC Davis in their first year with the Aggies.

Brockington won all three of his matchups at the Del Walker Championship. He defeated fourth-ranked Washington's Larry Iverson 1-up then defeated Rak Cho of Oregon, ranked 62nd nationally, 2-and-1 in his second matchup. Brockington closed his spring debut with a 5-and-4 win over Philip Chian of Long Beach State.

Vivolo's lone win in Long Beach was a 2-up victory over the 49ers' Xander Schauffele. The freshman finished at 9-over at the 22nd Annual Amer Ari at Waikoloa Beach to open the spring season. He's averaging 75.4 strokes per round while Baxter owns a 75.8 average.

Baxter's freshman season features a low score of 69 in the third round of the SCVB Pacific Invitational. He also wrote himself into the record books with a double eagle at the Amer Ari at Waikoloa Beach, joining current assistant coach Todd Hammond as the only two Aggies to accomplish the feat.
