AGGIE NOTES: UC Davis remains in the Golfstat Head-to-Head rankings with its No. 24 position... The Aggies are the highest ranked Big West team... They also have a season-best three players ranked among the top 100 by Golfweek, including senior Ramie Sprinkling who delivered UC Davis its fourth medalist honor of the year with his victory at the Fresno State Lexus Classic... He had rounds of 68 and 69 sandwiched around a 75 in the middle round... Junior Phil Huffman made his season debut in that event, shooting a 5-under 67 in the second round to take the 36-hole lead before eventually finishing a career-best tie for fifth... Huffman will join Sprinkling, Nate Pistacchio, Austin Graham and Brent Booth at the Oregon Duck Invitational... UC Davis enters the spring-break tournament as the second-highest ranked team participating behind No. 8 Washington... Pepperdine is just behind the Aggies in the rankings at No. 29... The Aggies finished 10th in last year’s Oregon tournament... UC Davis continues an impressive season in which it has finished among the top three teams in six of eight tournament while having three players post individual wins...  Each of the Aggies’ five players this week have posted a top-five finish this season including three by Sprinkling and two each from Graham and Pistacchio.

HEAD COACH Cy Williams: “We had a chance to win the Fresno State tournament. We were in the final group in a tie for the lead which is always your goal coming in. We had a second tournament win by Ramie which is really amazing. There’s not many people in college golf that win two big tournaments like that so what a tribute to him. And then Phil Huffman to come in and contribute and show we have another key player and make us a little bit deeper is huge. There were so many positives from that tournament. Hopefully we can build on it in Oregon.”

(On the team’s consistent performance this season): “They just love to play and they work so hard. They’re very talented and they work very hard and they want to be great players. That’s it. They do everything the right way.”

(On the Oregon Duck Invitational and Eugene Country Club): “It’s an amazing golf course. It’ll be just like a U.S. Open golf course but a little bit shorter. Obviously the weather will be a factor. It’ll be interesting because we’ll have a different lineup for just the second time this year. The tournament will be another good opportunity.”
