DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis men's golf team's home tournament in mid-April, previously called the Winchester Classic, has been renamed the El Macero Classic and will be played at El Macero Country Club, it's been announced.
The change was made due to unplayable course conditions at Winchester Country Club - which has hosted the tournament the past two years - that will not be resolved in time for the 54-hole event which is scheduled for Apr. 18-20. El Macero, one of the Aggies' home courses, is a championship course what will host a local qualifier for the 2014 U.S. Open.
Other teams scheduled to compete in the tournament are Boise State, Cal Poly, Colorado State, Cal State Fullerton, Sacramento State, Grand Canyon, Marquette, Seattle University, Idaho, Nevada and Utah Valley.
