IRVINE, Calif. - UC Davis senior Ramie Sprinkling, who had a pair of top-10 finishes during April before helping lead the Aggies to a conference championship, was named the Big West Conference Men's Co-Golfer of the Month, it was announced on Friday.

He shared the award with Sean Shahi of Irvine. The award covered tournaments in the month prior to the league tournament. Sprinkling, from Camarillo, is the third Aggie to be honored with the award during the 2009-10 season, joining Austin Graham and Nate Pistacchio who received it in September and October, respectively.

Sprinkling was named to the All-Big West Conference first team after this week's conference championship tournament in San Luis Obispo which the Aggies won by seven strokes. The victory clinched a berth in next month's NCAA Division I Championships.

Sprinkling earned his Big West Golfer of the Month award after finishing in a tie for fifth at the Wyoming Cowboy Classic and a tie for seventh at the U.S. Intercollegiate at Stanford. He had a 3-under 207 at the Cowboy Classic - helping UC Davis to its third straight win at the tournament - before shooting 5-under at Stanford last weekend.

He did not have a score higher than 70 in either event and was UC Davis' highest finisher at the U.S. Intercollegiate.

UC Davis, which will be making its first Division I postseason appearance, will find out where it will be playing in the regional round when the selection field is announced on May 4.
