LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The UC Davis men's golf team will continue its early season action on Sunday and Monday when it takes part in the Windon Memorial Classic, hosted by Northwestern University in Lake Forest, Ill.
Sixteen teams are entered the 54-hole tournament which opens with a 7 a.m. (Pacific) shotgun start on Sunday and finishes with tee times at 6 a.m. on Monday. Mike Brockington, Matt Hansen, Jonny Baxter, Luke Vivolo and Ben Corfee will comprise the Aggies' quintet.
UC Davis, led by an eighth-place finish from Hansen and a 17th-place showing from Baxter, tied with Tennessee for fifth place at last year's event, nine shots back of winner Ohio State. Brockington is making a return appearance at the tournament after tying for 46th place.
Besides UC Davis and Northwestern, other teams entered are Arkansas, Coastal Carolina, DePaul, Harvard, Iowa, Kent State, Lamar, Marquette, Michigan, North Texas, Ohio State, Penn State, Purdue and Tulsa.
UC Davis opened its 2013-14 season last week, finishing 10th at the Kikkor Husky Invitational at the University of Washington. Hansen's 13th-place finish paced the Aggies.
