UC Davis senior Louie Bishop shot an even-par 72 in the third and final round of the Barona Collegiate Cup men's golf tournament at Barona Creek Golf Club Tuesday. He moved into a tie for 25th place overall, two strokes and seven places behind team leader Matt Marshall. The Aggies finished 14th in the 18-team tournament with a 54-hole total of 878.

Alabama-Birmingham finished with a school-record 840 to win the tournament, finishing four strokes ahead of runner-up Wichita State. Colorado State placed third at 845. UAB trailed Wichita by six heading into Tuesday's round, then compiled a team total of 279 to overtake the Shockers.

San Diego State hosted the tournament at the 7,323-yard, par-72 course in Lakeside. The Aztecs finished fifth at their own tournament with an 853 aggregate.

UAB's Zack Sucher and Nevada's Taylor Coffman each finished the tournament atop the leaderboard at 13-under-par 203. Sucher beat Coffman on the second playoff hole to claim the individual title. Zen Brown of Colorado State finished third at 205.

Marshall was UC Davis' highest finisher, carding a 73 in Tuesday's round to finish at 2-under-par 214 for the tournament. His score, a season-best total by six strokes, tied with Ryan Spears of Wichita State for 18th place. Bishop, who scored a three-under-par 69 in Monday's second round, was part of a six-person tie for 25th place. Freshman Phil Huffman and junior Nate Pistacchio rounded out the scoring with totals of 223 and 225, respectively. Redshirt freshman Gregg Button was the Aggies' fifth entrant, totalling 233.

The Barona Collegiate Cup concludes the 2006 fall season for UC Davis. The Aggies launch their 2007 spring season at the Waikola Intercollegiate, hosted by Hawaii-Hilo, on February 7.
