Patriot All-America Invitational Website

GREENSBORO, N.C. - Matt Hansen, who recently became the first UC Davis men's golfer in program history to play at the Western Refining Collegiate All-America Golf Classic, has received an invitation to the inaugural Patriot All-America Invitational.

The 54-hole amateur event will be held Dec. 28-30 at The Wigwam in Litchfield Park, Ariz. and will feature current men's collegiate golfers. Invitations were based on individuals earning PING All-America honors during the 2010-11 season.

Each participant in the Patriot All-America Invitational will represent a fallen service member and will carry a commemorative golf bag bearing the name of that soldier.

In his debut season with UC Davis, Hansen earned PING All-America honorable mention accolades after finishing as the individual medalist at the NCAA Southwest Regional, advancing to the NCAA Div. I Championships as UC Davis' first representative in its Div. I era. Hansen was also named the 2010-11 Big West Freshman of the Year.

The first round of action begins on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. ET with 18 holes being played on each day of competition.
