MORAGA, Calif. - Anthony Butler's goal in the 26th minute put the Gaels ahead and the defense made it stand up as Saint Mary's posted a 1-0 victory over UC Davis in a men's soccer game Wednesday afternoon at Saint Mary's Stadium.

After freshman goalkeeper Brian Mason punted the ball three-quarters of the length of the field, Matt Fitzgerald headed a through ball to Butler. Butler was faced with a one-on-one situation with Aggie goalkeeper Charles Warne. Butler's chip over a diving Warne found the back right corner of the goal.
