TURLOCK, Calif. - Freshman defender Darren Hammond scored the tying goal with under five minutes to play in regulation and senior forward Jared Ramsey had the game-winner in the fifth minute of overtime as No.24 UC Davis rallied for the 2-1, come-from-behind victory over Cal State Stanislaus in a California Collegiate Athletic Association men's soccer match Friday afternoon at Warrior Field.

With the win, the Aggies improve to 6-1-1 on the season, 2-1-0 in CCAA play while Stanislaus falls to 2-5, 0-4 in conference action.

It was a defensive struggle in the first half as neither team managed many shots on goal. UC Davis were able to fire three shots while the Warriors had just one in the opening 45 minutes. While the Aggies managed just three shots, all were on goal as Warrior goalkeeper Matthew Buckman recorded three first-half saves.

In the second half, Stanislaus finally broke through in the 73rd minute as Tim Parola knocked-in the first goal of the game following two passes from Isidro Becerra and Lupe Rivera.

Less than seven minutes later, Hammond scored the equalizer as Derrick Thomas' pass found him on the far side. It marked the first goal of Hammonds' Aggie career. UC Davis then won the match four minutes and 10 seconds into the overtime period on a free kick when Ramsey directed the ball around the defensive wall and just out of Buckman's reach in the upper right corner.

It was a physical game as 35 fouls were called, 25 on Stanislaus, and nine yellow cards.

For the game, UC Davis outshot Stanislaus, 8-2, forcing Buckman into four saves while Aggie keeper Nic Platter was not forced to make a save.
