Three different Cal Poly players scored goals in leading the men's soccer team to a 3-1 win in a non-conference game over visiting UC Davis at Mustang Stadium Saturday night.
With the loss the Aggies fall to 5-9-2 on the season while the Mustangs improve to 6-5-4.
Cal Poly was the first to score in the 21st minute of play on a Nikhil Erlebach goal, his team leading sixth of the year. UC Davis answered back just before half time with the equalizer as Ryan Shaw took a pass from Connor Voss and tied the score at 1-1 with his team-leading eighth goal of the season.
Just over a minute after intermission the Mustangs' Ronnie Silva scored the game winner on a one timer from 20 yards out, his fourth of the season. Francisco Marmolejo put the game away with his third goal of the season in the 81st minute to ensure the Mustang win.
In goal for the Mustangs was Jeremy Coupe, recording the win with four saves and improving to 5-5-4 for the season. Charles Warne of UC Davis suffered the loss while allowing three goals with three saves.
Cal Poly managed ten shots, six on goal, while UC Davis had 11 shots and five on goal.
UC Davis is next in action on Tuesday when it faces Sacramento State at Hornet Field. Gametime is et for 2:30 p.m.
