DAVIS, Calif. -- After opening its spring season with a 1-0 shutout of the USL's Sacramento Republic FC, the UC Davis men's soccer team has continued to roll during its spring campaign, posting recent wins over local rivals to improve to 3-0.

The Aggies have allowed just one goal in three spring contests, thus far, rolling in a pair of wins over Sonoma State and Notre Dame de Namur on April 5 by the scores of 7-1 and 4-0, respectively. A quartet of players have paced the UC Davis offense thus far as junior striker Matt Wiesenfarth, sophomore midfielder Eddie Manella, freshman striker Dashiell MacNamara, and junior defender Sam Hoeck, have each tallied a pair of goals.

Manella and sophomore midfielder Ryan Gross have led the team in assists through the first three matches, while the stingy back line of Ramon Martin Del Campo, Brian Ford, and Connor Willis Hong have stymied opposing offenses. Sophomore goalkeeper John Piasta has also come up huge in key situations, stopping a pair of penalties in two appearances.

Five matches remain on the Aggies' spring schedule beginning this Saturday (April 12) at 10 a.m. with an alumni game at the Aggie Soccer Field. The balance of the schedule include home matches against Chico State and Sacramento State in a 10 a.m. doubleheader on April 19, Stanford on April 26 at 4 p.m. at the Davis Legacy Soccer Fields, and Santa Clara on May 3 at 12:30 p.m.
