AGGIES, HORNETS CLASH IN BATTLE OF TOP TWO TEAMS
The UC Davis men's soccer team makes a short trip across the Causeway to take on Sacramento State on Saturday at 4 p.m. at Hornet Field.
The game is a battle of the top two teams in the North Division as Sacramento State is in first place with 13 points and UC Davis sits just behind in second place with 12 points.

SCOUTING SACRAMENTO STATE (7-5-2, 4-1-1 BIG WEST)
Sacramento State suffered its first Big West loss of the year on Tuesday, falling 2-0 to No. 16 UC Santa Barbara... The Hornets are in their first year as members of the Big West Conference.
Chris Sandoval and Gave Silveira have each scored four goals for the Hornets while Isaac Ikyurav and Alex Lopez have each contributed four assists.
Bryan Oliver has made 80 saves in 13 appearances for a .833 save percentage... He leads the Big West in both categories and is tied for eighth nationally with four other players in saves.
Sacramento State leads not only the North Division, but the entire Big West Conference with 13 points.
ALL-TIME AGAINST SACRAMENTO STATE
UC Davis owns an 8-5 all-time record against Sacramento State, but the Hornets have won the last two meetings.
UC Davis last won at Hornet Field in 2008, taking a 1-0 win.
CAL POLY 1, AGGIES 0 (OCT. 16)
UC Davis saw its four-game winning streak fall at the hands of Cal Poly as the Mustangs claimed a 1-0 win at Alex G. Spanos Stadium on Tuesday.
The Aggies outshot the Mustangs 15-9, including 11 second-half shots, and won 10 corner kicks while allowing just two from Cal Poly.
HENRY REPEATS AS BIG WEST PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Alex Henry put away the game-winning goal on Oct. 13 against No. 8 UC Santa Barbara and was voted the league's Offensive Player of the Week for the second consecutive week.
He curled a direct free kick from the right wing into the upper left corner of the goal with just five minutes left in the game for the Aggies' first win over UCSB on Aggie Soccer Field since 2006.
Henry is the first Aggie to repeat as Big West Player of the Week since teammate Omar Zeenni did so in 2011.
UC DAVIS 1, #8 UC SANTA BARBARA 0 (OCT. 13)
Alex Henry curled a free kick from the right wing into the upper left corner of the goal in the 85th minute to give UC Davis a 1-0 win over eighth-ranked UC Santa Barbara.
Omar Zeenni made three saves and collected his fifth shutout of the season.
It was UC Davis' first win over UCSB since 2008 and the first win on Aggie Soccer Field since 2006.
Freshman and Davis native Ryan Gross was recently voted No. 61 on TopDrawerSoccer.com's Top 100 Freshmen list.
Gross leads UC Davis in points (7) and has recorded a team-leading three assists.
He scored two goals against No. 23 Tulsa to lead the team to a 2-1 victory on Sept. 14.
Gross was named to the all-tournament team at the SMU Classic Presented by Jason's Deli.
He has started all 15 games in defense and has played 1,393 minutes on the field... UC Davis has played a collective 1,430 minutes in 2012.
ZEENNI REWRITING RECORD BOOKS
Junior goalkeeper Omar Zeenni recorded his fifth shutout of the season on Oct. 14 against UC Santa Barbara, marking the 12th shutout of his career.
Zeenni now stands solely in fourth place on the UC Davis career shutouts list, passing 2010 alum Ryan McCowan who finished his career with 11.
With just one more shutout, Zeenni will be tied for second with Jason Kong (1998-01) and Barry Wong (1990-91) who each recorded 13 shutouts.
UC Davis' all-time leader is Nic Platter (2000-03) who recorded 17 shutouts.
With 52 saves in 2012, Zeenni now has 147 career saves in his three years... He needs just 14 more saves to move into fifth all-time in career saves and pass Barry Wong (1990-91) who finished with 160 saves.
He ranks third in the Big West in saves and second in save percentage (.788)
THE WILD, WILD BIG WEST
UC Davis ranks second in the North Division - and is tied for second in the entire Big West Conference with Cal State Northridge - with 12 points and a 4-2 record in league games.
Sacramento State leads the North Division by a narrow one-point margin... The top two teams advance to the Big West Conference Tournament.
In the South Division, Cal State Northridge owns a 4-2 record as well and is in first place with 12 points.
UC Riverside trails the Matadors by six points and is in second place.
