COMING UP NEXT: The UC Davis men's soccer team looks to get back on track with Big West Conference matchups against Cal State Northridge and 22nd-ranked UC Irvine... The Aggies travel to Southern California to face the Matadors in a Wednesday afternoon matchup... Kickoff time is set for 3:00 p.m.... The team then returns to Aggie Soccer Stadium to host UC Irvine at 1:00 p.m. Saturday.

SCOUTING THE MATADORS: Cal State Northridge snapped a three-game losing streak with a 1-0 upset win over No. 3 UC Santa Barbara Saturday... Before that, the Matadors lost to UC Irvine 3-0 Oct. 10... The Matadors are led by Cameron Sims who has four goals, including two gamewinners... Sims leads the Big West Conference in shots with 4.00 per game... Sunghyun Kim has four assists and three goals... Cal State Northridge has been splitting time in the goal between Michael Abalos and Brandon Ibarra... Abalos has an overall record of 4-4-1 while Ibarra is 3-1-0... Both goalkeepers have recorded two shutouts this season... Head coach Terry Davila begins his tenth season with Cal State Northridge and led his team to an 8-7-4 overall record in 2008.

ALL-TIME AGAINST CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE: UC Davis owns a 4-2-1 all-time record against Cal State Northridge... The Aggies have not lost to the Matadors since Nov. 11, 2005... UC Davis also owns a 1-1-1 record at Matador Soccer Field... The two teams last met Oct. 22, 2008 in Davis when the Aggies took a 3-2 win.

SCOUTING THE ANTEATERS: UC Irvine is currently ranked 22nd nationally in the NSCAA poll and is recieving votes from Soccer Times and College Soccer News... UC Irvine defeated UC Riverside 4-2 in their only match of the week... The Anteaters are led by senior Irving Garcia who had two goals and an assist against the Highlanders... Garcia was named to the TopDrawerSoccer Team of the Week for his performance against UC Riverside and leads the team with seven goals and six assists... Spencer Thompson and Amani Walker have each scored five goals for the `Eaters... Goalkeepers Andrew Fontein and Victor Chinchilla have split time in the net for UC Irvine... Fontein currently holds a goals against average of 0.96 and has recorded four shutouts... Chinchilla has a .739 save percentage in five games.

ALL-TIME AGAINST UC IRVINE: Saturday marks the second meeting of the year for the two teams... In Irvine Sept. 30, UC Davis took a 2-1 double overtime victory to open Big West Conference play... The Aggies now own a 4-4-3 overall record against the Anteaters... The Sept. 30th match was the fourth game of the series to go into overtime... UC Davis is 2-0-2 at home against UC Irvine.

MEN'S SOCCER TO HOST CLINIC FOR TEAM DAVIS SPECIAL OLYMPICS: The UC Davis men's soccer team will host a clinic for approximately 15 members of Team Davis Special Olympics Saturday prior to the game against UC Irvine... UC Davis players and coaches will conduct the clinic and teach soccer drills to the Special Olympics athletes... The athletes will then be invited to attend the game later that afternoon.

NO TIES ALLOWED: The 2009 men's soccer team has yet to allow a tie this season, despite three double overtime matches... The last time the team completed a season without a tie was in 1998... In 2008, the team tied a season record with four ties.

WEEKEND RECAP: UC Davis suffered two losses last week... Then-No. 3 UC Santa Barbara took a 3-0 win Thursday at Aggie Soccer Stadium after the game was pushed back a day to accomodate unplayable conditions due to heavy rains in Davis... The Aggies then traveled to Cal State Fullerton and fell 1-0 to the Titans.
