Amarikwa and Colorado Rapids Set for MLS Cup Final

Former UC Davis standout Quincy Amarikwa and the Colorado Rapids are set to face FC Dallas in the finals of the MLS Cup Sunday at BMO Field in Toronto. Match time is set for 5:30 p.m. PT and will be televised live on ESPN.

Colorado defeated San Jose by a 1-0 decision Saturday to advance to the championship game. Amarikwa entered the game for the Rapids, but did not record any statistics.

Amarikwa was traded to Colorado in April by San Jose.

In his second year with MLS, Amarikwa has appeared in 13 games for Colorado, scoring one goal and registering nine shots.

While at UC Davis, Amarikwa appeared in 77 games over four seasons and reecorded 31 goals and seven assists. In 2008, he helped lead UC Davis to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the first time in school history and earned second team All-America honors as well as NSCAA All-Far West Regional first team accolades.
