UC Davis sophomore becomes first Aggie honored since 2012

2002-03: Finished 5-11 in singles, 10-9 in doubles, mostly paired with Kyle Trinosky... Went 1-3 at No. 3 singles, 3-6 at No. 4 and 1-2 at No. 5... Posted first win over Jakub Silva of Sacramento State at No. 4... Went 3-0 (with Trinosky) at UC Challenge... Barasch/Trinosky also won both NCAA West Region matchups.

2001-02: Went 2-4 in singles, 7-4 in doubles... Appeared at No. 6 singles late in the season... Picked up back-to-back victories, beating CSLA's Jorge Garcia, 7-6, 6-4, then Cal Tech's Vincent Fernandez, 6-1, 6-1... Went 6-3 when paired with Joey Proietti, including a 5-match win streak from Feb. 2-15... Began that stretch with a 9-8 victory over Lacroix/Jeppsson of Pacific.

SAN LUIS OBISPO HS '01: Played four years of varsity tennis, leading team to four consecutive Northern League titles... All-Northern League selection four years, including league MVP as a senior... Northern League singles champion as a senior... Team MVP during junior season... Team placed second in section tournament during first three years and third during senior season... Ended senior season by leading team to 89 consecutive Northern League wins.

PERSONAL: Born Feb. 11, 1983 in Pasadena, Calif... Dean's List student in economics... Parents are Stephen & Janine Barasch... Stephen played tennis for Arizona... Older sister, Shawna, played tennis for UC Davis from 1997-2000... Considering career in law or politics... Was ranked No.46 in USTA/SoCal Boys 18 singles in 2000.
