2010-11: DOUBLES FIRST-TEAM ALL-BIG WEST CONFERENCE... Split time as the No. 2 and No. 3 singles player, finishing with 4-5 and 2-7 records in dual matches, respectively... Had a combined 8-14 singles mark after a 2-2 fall record... Posted a 9-4 record in the No. 1 doubles spot with partner Nick Lopez... The team of Coates/Lopez earned the first ITA doubles national ranking in program history... Doubles team ranked as high as No. 46... Had a combined 9-10 mark in doubles play after a 0-3 mark in fall competition with multiple partners... Helped to down Cal Poly's No. 32 ranked doubles team of Dome/Sonesson, 9-8 on Apr. 2.

2009-10: Went 13-9 in singles and 13-15 in doubles... Had a 4-4 record during fall competition... Played at No. 6 singles for the majority of the season, recording a team-best 9-3 record... Lost two matches at No. 5 singles... Tallied a 4-4 record in doubles during the fall... Bounced around in doubles play, finishing with a 4-6 record at the No. 2 position, 1-1 mark at the No. 1 position and 3-3 record at the No. 3 position.

OAKMONT HS `09: Won Sieraa Foothills League championship as a junior while also being named league MVP...Went undefeeated in league matches...Also went undefeated in the league as a sophomore while attending Cardinal Newman High School...Sophomore season also included a North Bay League championship...Named All-Empire Player of the Year by the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat...Received North Coast Section Scholar-Athlete Award as a sophomore....A two-time Academic Merit Award winner at Oakmont.

PERSONAL: Born in Roseville, Calif.... Has not declared a major... Parents are Karen and Cliff Coates...Career highlight is being quarterfinalist at Quicksilver Nationals.
