Aggies Break Briefly From Duals for Doubles Competition

UC Davis participates in Pacific Coast Men's Doubles Championship before dual with Villanova

2006-07: Ranked T2nd on team in overall wins, finishing 10-10 in singles, 14-10 in doubles... Had 6-3 singles record in tournament action... Won `C' bracket of Pacific Fall Invitational, winning all three matches in straight sets... Topped San Francisco's Torin Chin, 6-2, 7-5, in title match... Went 4-7 in duals, including 3-2 mark at No. 6... Played most doubles matches with Jayce Fitch, going 14-9 overall... Elefant/Fitch team went 4-0 at Pacific Fall Invite... Saw most dual action at No. 2 doubles, going 6-5 with four-match win streak from Mar. 9 to Apr. 6... Selected to Div. I Independent All-Academic squad.

2005-06: Went 5-6 in singles, 3-4 in doubles... Advanced to White semifinals at Bronco Classic in fall... Beat Grant Robertson of UC Santa Barbara and Blake Meister of UC San Diego before falling to teammate Henri Landes... Teamed with Casey McMakin during fall (2-3), then Jeffrey List in the spring (1-1)... Elefant/McMakin reached Red finals at Bronco Classic.

2004-05: Finished with 7-14 singles mark, splitting time at No. 3 (4-7), No. 4 (1-2) and No. 5 (1-0) slots... Beat Santa Clara's Tyler Wilson, 6-4, 7-6 (5); then Pacific's Austin Kakar, 6-1, 6-3, to advance to semifinals at Bronco Classic... Went 2-5 in doubles, pairing with Henri Landes... Elefant/Landes picked up wins vs. Swarthmore and San Francisco.

ALAMEDA HS '04: North Coast Section runner-up in 2004... Selected as Alameda-Contra Costa Athletic League MVP all four years, only losing one league match during his career... Ranked among top 10 in Boys' 16s and 18s in Northern California... Captured CIF-NCS doubles championship as a sophomore... Participated in Boys' 16s and 18s Supernational tournaments... Represented Northern California at 2003 Junior Davis Cup.

PERSONAL: Born in Oakland, Calif.... Majoring in history... Parents are David & Anna Elefant... Non-sports hero is his grandfather, sports hero is Pete Sampras... Serves on school's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and was selected to represent UC Davis at the 2006 NCAA Leadership Conference.
