2016-17: ALL-BIG WEST CONFERENCE HONORABLE MENTION DOUBLES... Led the Aggies with a 21-13 overall record and tied for the top spot with 11 dual match victories on the season in singles play, including a 4-1 mark against Big West opponents... Split time between three spots in the Aggies' lineup, spending most of the year at the No. 4 position where he finished 10-8... Finished 13-7 overall and 4-4 at the No. 3 spot in the lineup in dual match doubles... Ended the season with a three-match winning streak in singles -- his final two victories coming in three sets... During the fall, won his singles flight with a perfect 4-0 record at the UC Santa Barbara Classic and reached the round of 32 at the ITA Northwest Regionals... In doubles during the fall, teammed with Jesse Ross to win their flight at the Aggie Invitational and took home the title UCSB Classic with teammate David Goulak, opening the season on a seven-match winning streak.
2015-16: Finished the season 18-7 overall and 11-4 in dual matches singles competition, including a 4-1 mark against Big West Conference opponents... Played most of the season at the No. 5 spot in the Aggies' singles lineup, finishing 9-4 there... Won his last four singles matches to close out the season -- part of a longer run that saw him win 11 of his final 13 during the spring after opening the year 0-2... Won seven straight singles matches from Jan. 23-April 2... Won both of his contests during the Aggies' run to the semifinals of the Big West Tournament... Finished 7-3 during the fall in singles and 2-3 in doubles.
2014-15: Finished the season 24-9 overall, 13-6 in dual matches, and 4-1 in Big West Conference play... One of three 20-match winners for the Aggies, finishing tied for first on the team in overall wins and leading the team in both dual match and conference victories... Also led the team with an 11-3 singles record during the fall, when he reached the semifinals of the Aggie Fall Invitational and won his flight at the UCSB Classic... Competed at four different spots in the lineup, mainly at the No. 5 position where he finished 10-4... Won six straight contests at one point and 11 of 13... Finished 3-4 against opponents from nationally ranked foes... Named the Big West Player of the Week on April 15 following a pair of three-set wins against nationally ranked Cal Poly and UC Santa Barbara... Overall, finished 7-7 in limited doubles action with five different partners, including a 3-2 mark in dual matches... Had the most success with teammate Eli Whittle, finishing 3-1.
SUMMER 2014: Won the doubles title and reached the singles final of an Intercollegiate Tennis Association Summer Circuit tournament stop in Davis in mid-July... Qualified for the USTA Boys 18s National Championships in Kalamazoo, Mich., in August, but fell in his first-round match... Also reached the third round in singles at a Summer Circuit stop in Laguna Niguel, Calif., with a pair of straight-set wins.
ARCHBISHOP MITTY HS '14: A four-star recruit out of high school according to the website TennisRecruiting.net... Ranked as high as No. 85 in the nation, No. 16 in the region, and No. 15 in the state of California, according to the website... According to the United States Tennis Association, Maltby is ranked No. 211 in the nation (as of June 12, 2014)... Named the West Catholic Athletic League Player of the Year as a senior while also earning first-team all-conference honors... Won the WCAL doubles title for the third consecutive season as a senior... Advanced to the finals of the CIF Central Coast Section doubles tournament as the No. 2 seed... Placed third in both the Boys' 18 singles and doubles competitions at the USTA National Regional Championship in Palo Alto, Calif., in 2013, earning the tournament's Sportsmanship Award.
